**Imagine having complete control as you explore beautiful cities from the perspective of a windshield. That’s what “Drive and Listen” is all about.**
Of course, you’re not actually getting into someone else’s car, peeking over their shoulders virtually, and hijacking their radio while they cruise through Amsterdam, Beijing, Hawaii, Stockholm, or Tokyo, just to name a few cities from the diverse selection on Drive and Listen. How would that even work technically? I still had a tiny glimmer of hope though when the free service kept popping up on TikTok, with people claiming exactly that.
Well, obviously not live, but still well-executed. Whether there were malicious intentions behind it or they simply didn’t realize it’s a clever mix of dashcam videos from YouTube and internet radio, who knows. So all you have to do is head to driveandlisten.herokuapp.com and you’ll be driving through the world’s metropolises. You can’t indulge in it endlessly though, as the clips are usually between 20 and 60 minutes long. If you feel like the cars are moving too slowly, you can even shift up a gear or two (at 1.5x or 2x speed). In addition to the customizable radio, you can also toggle the ambient sounds on or off.

## No travel possible: Now we discover the world virtually
About two months ago, I told you here on the blog about YouTube channels that explore cities on foot. Drive and Listen ultimately falls into the same category and gives you the opportunity to discover new places without stepping outside your front door. Even though we hopefully have the prospect of being able to travel with peace of mind soon, it’s still a nice consolation until then. _Follow us on Google News and chat with us in the Smartdroid Telegram chat.
